6th Anniversary Instruments

NOW TAKING INQUIRIES INTO THE 6-INSTRUMENT "6th ANNIVERSARY PACKAGE" - inquire

Every year we celebrate
our Anniversary by building special instruments... the 1st was a Mesquite Cortobass now living in Colorado. The 2nd a pair of fretted & fretless Pecan Cortobasses, including the one in the "Hand Made Hand Played" book. 3rd was a blackwashed Cortobass with an eagle carved in. 4th was an all Maple Fusion. And last year for our 5th we made 5 wild rainbow Cortobasses out of random strips of various woods.

This year is our 6th, and given the fact we have six models, we will make one of each ~ Cortobass, Sadhana, Fusion, Hy5, Skyrider and Electric Jazz guitar ~ from wild, rustic Texas Mesquite, with twin stringers of  Maple bordered by Walnut. They will all have black hardware, Mesquite headstock overlays and special plaques, and we'll show pictures of the builds here. These exact builds will not be duplicated, and this limited run will first be offered as a set of all six instruments.

Mesquite is a magical wood to me; it speaks of the wild and untamed lands of the South & Southwest, the ancient rugged beauty, and those who were here long ago. It has unique tonal properties, working properties and spiritual qualities that only become apparent when you work with it. It does not like to be dominated and consistently holds surprises as it is worked. All the Mesquite in these builds came from the same local source a few years back; we followed leads into extreme rural Texas and found a man of many tarps; what weren't covering old cars covered stacks of amazing old milled Mesquite.

Now it comes back to life.

The Birdsong "6th Anniversary Package"
is how these instruments will first be offered. The package includes the collection of six Anniversary instruments, some with very low serial numbers... also some very special additional pieces of random birdsong history (think of them as part gesture of gratitude and part really big surprises at the bottom of the really big Cracker Jack box), and I will hand deliver it all to you anywhere in the continental USA personally. While I'm there I'll be happy to set them up to your preference and help you shop for amplifiers or any other gear you may require to accompany your new fleet. Want to have a whole collection of special commemorative instruments, invest in a never-to-be-repeated special package of early builds from a growing guitar company and instantly go down in Birdsong history? If this sounds like fun, please inquire about the "6th Anniversary Package".

Here are the builds...

6th Anniversary Cortobass, serial number 200.
#50 and #100 were also Anniversary instruments; funny how things work out sometimes.
