Every so often as a builder of musical instruments, you are cosmically
allowed the privilege of working with an extraordinary piece of wood.

Every so often as a sentient and feeling human being and a fan of music
and song, an artist will touch you to the core with their chords & words.

Every so often as a true fan of an artist, you will be blessed to meet them
and tell them how their art has affected you... and to give something back.

Once in a lifetime, by greater hands, it all comes together.

Birdsong #1: The Rainmaker
The first instrument to bear the name of Birdsong Guitars.

The first instrument to wear the feather on the headstock.

Serial number B001

Body: 1 piece of wildly figured crotch Black Walnut

Built by Scott Beckwith
Gifted to Eliza Gilkyson

Neck: Select Honduras Mahogany, Rosewood fretboard
Shaped like a favorite old Martin acoustic.

Note how the wood grain matches the contours of the body
shape - Eliza picked out the shape before Hippie Sam found
the piece of wood and it was cut into a body blank...

Thank you, Eliza.
