The Birdsong Cortobass debuted in 2004 as a far leap forward in short scale tone and performance. It's still available and much the same, a classic itself still workshop crafted in Texas, USA. The bass that built the brand, and its brethren - beautiful and balanced, comfortable and versatile.
From our hands to yours! It began with a pro player’s quest for a smaller bass guitar that sounded and balanced better than the old designs, and hand crafted to higher standards; it built into a line of 4 AND 5 STRINGS that are real performers, now stage and studio proven worldwide for DECADES.
We’re a true small workshop and have been since the beginning. Over 20 years…

In a world where less and less is actually what it appears to be, Birdsong instruments are still hand crafted in a small workshop in the Texas “Hill Country”, on real work benches with wood shavings and sweat, by experienced hands attached to real people who care.
That logo means something to us, and it’s burned into every headstock. Crafting these is our passion and service, and we’d love to make one for you.
